Testimonials
"We have been a customer of Lead Precision Machine Tools for several years having bought Leadwell machining centres in the late 1990’s. The machines have been used extensively over a number of contracts and have given good service. When necessary the company has given excellent technical support and service which is why we have recently invested in two Hwacheon Hi Tech 300 CNC Lathes. These machines have surpassed our expectations and we have been able to reduce cycle times dramatically due mainly to the ‘X’ travel extending beyond the centre line up to 90mm, which is unusual on this size of machine. This allows the same tool to be used for two operations therefore reducing floor to floor time and saving money. The machine construction is very rigid and we have carried out ‘hard turning’ eliminating grinding operations on components. The machines are brilliant." Andrew Saunders Director, CDM (UK) Ltd. |

High Level of Investment increases profitability
Horizontal Boring Services Ltd, Wigan, has invested heavily over the past ten months and with Lead Precision Machine Tools Ltd’s help and support it is achieving its business objectives and increasing profits faster than predicted.
2006 was a turning point for Horizontal Boring when a decision was made to invest in new CNC equipment and the first acquisition in March was the Leadwell MH 500 twin pallet horizontal machining centre, taking part of a £350,000 investment. With a machining capacity of 750 X 650 x 700 the MH 500 is capable of machining large gate valves and reducing set up and machining times given the twin pallet configuration and full integral ‘B’ axis, productivity on a range of valves was improved by 45%.
Production Director, Barry Beesley chose the Leadwell MH 500 on the basis that it offered fantastic value for money and after seeing the machines cutting capabilities at established sites in the Midlands he had no hesitation in recommending the purchase to the board and his decision has been verified by the increase in productivity. The machine has performed extremely well since installation and confidence in Lead Precision Machine Tools Ltd has enhanced a very good working relationship, so much so that the balance of this investment was used to purchase a Leadwell MV 40 vertical machining centre and a Hwacheon Hi Tech 300MC lathe.
The MV 40 which was showcased at Mach 2006 is the latest in a new line from Leadwell offering high performance at affordable prices and expanding the established Leadwell range in the sphere of ‘higher performance offering increased profitability’. The MV series covers a range of capacities from 800mm to 1270mm ‘X’ axis travels.
Lead Precision Machine Tools Ltd has widened its product portfolio and has embraced Hwacheon’s range of products from Korea given the manufacturers expertise in producing first class multi-axis lathes in both horizontal and vertical configurations. Through this co-operation Lead can now offer integrated handling systems, vertical and horizontal twin spindle machines and ‘Y’ axis lathes.
Clients like Horizontal Boring have seen real benefits in Hwacheon’s products and their acquisition of the Hi Tech 300MC with driven tools and ‘C’ axis has reduced set up and machining times considerably. The company is moving forward and has plans for continued investment during 2007, Horizontal Boring has a solid reputation for first-class service and with Lead Precision Machine Tools help and support they are optimistic about the future.
